Vice Chair John Rogers

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of John Rogers, Vice-Chair of the Peel Police Services Board. He passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 with family by his side.

As members of the Board, each of us not only grieves at the passing of a tremendous individual and colleague, but also for the loss his family endures. Our deepest condolences are with his wife June, sons Michael and Mark, and to all of his extended family.

John served on the Board for 4 years, being appointed by the Provincial Government to the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board on August 29, 2012. He dedicated himself to working with the Board and Chief in continuing to provide the highest level of police service for Peel community. John's care and passion for the community was undeniable. His volunteer work with numerous charities, sports organizations and non-profit agencies, led to his receiving numerous awards, among them, the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation, in recognition of significant contributions to compatriots, the community and Canada, the Mississauga Citizen of the Year, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of contributions to Canada.

He will be missed, as both colleague and friend.
