Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board - Kolb and Miles Acclaimed

(BRAMPTON) - Feb. 4 - Emil Kolb, Chairman of the Board of the Region of Peel, was re-elected Chair of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board at the first meeting of the Board held January 30, 2004. This marks the ninth successive year that Mr. Kolb has been elected to this position by his Board colleagues. At the same meeting, Councillor Gael Miles was re-elected Vice-Chair, a position she first assumed on September 26, 2003.

"I am very gratified and honoured to continue to serve as Chair," says Mr. Kolb. "This is a great organization, and it works as well as it does because everyone involved is focused on a common goal, and that is the safety and security of our residents and workers."

Mr. Kolb says, "I very much appreciate the support of my colleagues, and of our Chief, Noel Catney. Our Chief and his team continue to exemplify the type of experience and dedication that makes them true leaders in the police sector."

"I want to thank and recognize my colleagues and our Chief for their ongoing support," says Councillor Gael Miles. "My priorities, whether as a resident, councillor, board member or vice-chair have always remained the same. I believe in the value of police and community working together to prevent crime, to solve crime, and to foster a partnership that creates one of the most important dynamics of a healthy community."
