Police Leadership Team Complete!

(BRAMPTON) – The Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board has selected the next two Deputy Chiefs of Police for the Peel Regional Police says Mr. Kolb, Chair of the Board. Mr. Kolb says this fills the vacancies caused by the promotion of Chief Jennifer Evans and the pending retirement of Deputy Chief Paul Tetzlaff.

Mr. Kolb is pleased to announce that Superintendent Chris McCord and Superintendent Frank Roselli are the successful applicants and will be sworn in as Deputy Chiefs of Police effective December 11, 2012.

"The Board interviewed a large number of candidates," says Mr. Kolb. "It was a very impressive group and speaks well to the strength of our organization. At the end of the day it came down to choosing the right individuals for the right time. The Board was unanimous in its view that Chris and Frank are those individuals."

Chief Evans says: "These are two proven leaders with great experience and deep roots in our organization and in our community. I’m very pleased to have them join the Executive Team and I look forward to working with them to meet the challenges ahead."

Superintendent Chris McCord began his policing career in Northern Ireland as a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary. A 23-year veteran of the Peel Regional Police, he has served in areas throughout the police service, including being Officer-in-Charge of Diversity Relations and Support Services and the Professional Standards Bureau. In 2011, he was promoted to Superintendent and as Executive Officer to the Chief of Police has served Chief Michael Metcalf, Acting Chief Paul Tetzlaff and Chief Jennifer Evans.

"This is a great honour and a significant responsibility," says Superintendent McCord. "I will work with our Chief, the Board and the members of our police service to serve our community to the best of my ability."

Superintendent Frank Roselli is a 32 year veteran of the PRP, commencing his career in uniform patrol in 1980. Promoted to Inspector in 2003, he has an extensive and varied background, including leading many high profile and complex investigations. This includes the Cecilia Zhang homicide, which eventually led to charges being laid and a successful prosecution. Promoted to Superintendent in 2004, he was in charge of 12 Division, worked in Information Services and his current assignment is Officer-in-Charge, Intelligence Services.

Superintendent Frank Roselli says: "It is a true honour to be selected for this position. I sincerely value the opportunity to make a difference in this great community. My commitment is, with our Chief and with the help of our members, to do just that."

The Peel Regional Police is the second largest municipal police service in Ontario. It provides police services to the cities of Brampton and Mississauga and under contract to Pearson International Airport.
