Peel Police Welcome New Deputy Chiefs of Police

(BRAMPTON) – Two long serving and highly experienced police officers have been promoted to Deputy Chiefs of Police says Mr. Emil Kolb, Chair of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board.

Mr. Kolb is pleased to announce that Superintendent Brian Adams and Superintendent David Jarvis are the Peel Regional Police's newest Deputy Chiefs of Police, with their appointment taking effect immediately. A date for a formal swearing-in will be announced in the near future.

"The Board was fortunate in interviewing a large number of candidates, who all demonstrated the kind of commitment to our police service and community that we have come to expect," says Mr. Kolb. "They were all extremely capable with our final determination coming down to best matching our current needs, especially as it relates to our community and what they expect of our police service."

Chief Jennifer Evans, Peel Regional Police, says, "I welcome Superintendent Adams and Jarvis as my new Deputies. They are well-respected police leaders who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new duties."

Superintendent Brian Adams is a 32-year veteran with a wide knowledge of the entire police service. A renowned investigator, among other high-profile assignments he was the Peel Regional Police's lead commander for the G8/G20 Summits. His most recent assignment was Officer-in-Charge of Investigative Services.

"I am honoured to be given this opportunity," says Superintendent Adams. "I know first hand the strength we have in the members of our police service. It will be a privilege working with them in my new role."

Superintendent David Jarvis is a 33-year veteran, having started his career with the Peel Regional Police as a Cadet. He has served in many areas of the police service, including multiple assignments in the Homicide Bureau. He was seconded to the British Columbia Missing Women Commission of Inquiry in 2011/12, and most recently served as Executive Officer to the Chief of Police.

"This is an outstanding organization," says Superintendent Jarvis. "I look forward to working with all our members, uniform and civilian, under the leadership of Chief Evans, to meet the challenges ahead."

The Peel Regional Police is the second largest municipal police service in Ontario. It provides police services to the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and under contract to Pearson International Airport.
