Peel Police Services Board Promotes Two New Deputy Chiefs

BRAMPTON:  The Peel Police Services Board today announced the appointments of two new Deputy Chiefs of Police – Superintendent Marc Andrews and Superintendent Ingrid Berkeley-Brown.

“The Peel Police Services Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Deputy Chiefs of Police. The new Deputies are assuming their roles at a very exciting time for policing in Peel Region,” said Chair Sue McFadden. “Deputies Andrews and Berkeley-Brown bring a depth and breadth of expertise and experience in community policing, diversity and inclusion, fiscal responsibility, mentorship and strategic management.”

The Board set out to replace the vacant Deputy Chief position following the retirement of Brian Adams in December 2017. During the selection process, the Board determined that both Deputies Andrews and Berkeley-Brown stood out for their skills, experience and expertise. In collaboration with Chief Jennifer Evans, the Board determined that they would promote both candidates, bringing the total number of Deputy Chiefs of Police in Peel to four.

“Both Marc and Ingrid recognize the importance of building partnerships within the community. They have demonstrated this throughout their policing career with Peel Regional Police and I look forward to working with them as we continue to address the increasing workload demands facing policing,” said Chief Evans.

The new Deputy Chiefs were introduced at today’s Board meeting.  A swearing-in ceremony will take place in March 2018.
