Peel Police Continue with Organizational Change, Appointing New Deputy Chiefs, Superintendents and New Structure

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Region of Peel - The Peel Police Services Board announces the appointments of three new Deputy Chiefs of Police: Staff Superintendent Randall Patrick, Superintendent Anthony Odoardi and Superintendent Nick Milinovich. These new appointments demonstrate the commitment of both the Peel Police Services Board and Peel Regional Police to innovation and organizational change.

The Board set out to build on Chief Nishan Duraiappah’s vision of advancing and modernising policing in Peel Region. This vision will enhance trust and public safety in the community, while supporting the world-class work over three thousand employees of Peel Regional Police.

During the selection process, the Peel Police Services Board recognized the industry-leading skills, expertise in driving innovation and inspirational leadership that defines the exemplary careers of Deputies Patrick, Odoardi and Milinovich. The new Deputies, along with current Deputy Chief Marc Andrews, represent the best executive team to support Duraiappah’s commitment to community safety and well-being and strategic innovation with an emphasis on the front line in Peel. The new Deputy Chiefs will assume their roles over the next few weeks.

“The Peel Police Services Board is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Deputy Chiefs of Police. While the new Deputies are assuming their roles in an unprecedented period in our history, it also represents an exciting time in the history of policing in Peel Region,” said Chair Ron Chatha. “Deputies Patrick, Odoardi and Milinovich bring a depth and breadth of expertise and experience in community policing, diversity and inclusion, fiscal responsibility, mentorship and strategic management.”

“I am pleased to welcome the new Deputy Chiefs to Peel Regional Police. They have worked in a variety of policing roles and are recognized as leaders provincially in speciality areas that align with identified priorities for this police service and community. They are strong police leaders who have the experience and standing in the policing community to integrate well with members of the Service, its various communities and our Police Services Board” said Chief Nishan Duraiappah.

As part of Chief Nishan Duraiappah’s organizational changes, Peel Regional Police announce the selection of seven new Superintendents to the leadership team to support the Chief’s strategic objectives and to be better reflective of the community it serves. Together, these new additions to senior ranks of the organization will ensure high-quality police service to our community that is inclusive, transparent and accountable.

“I’d like to also congratulate all of the newly identified Superintendents. Their experience and years of commitment to Peel Regional Police will strengthen our organization, our relationships with the community and our work towards the vision of A Safer Community Together,” said Chief Nishan Duraiappah. “These new Superintendents, new Deputy Chiefs along with new organizational changes represent overt commitment to collaborative risk-driven initiatives as well as strategic innovation and technology.”

Peel Police will also soon be promoting 10 members to the rank of Inspector; this follows approximately 30 additional front line supervisors and managers already promoted this year.
