Notification Concerning Chief Noel Catney Region of Peel

BRAMPTON, Chief Noel Catney is currently hospitalized because of a household accident that occurred on October 16, 2004 , says Emil Kolb, Chair, Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board . Mr. Kolb says Chief Catney is undergoing treatment at the William Osler Health Centre, Brampton , for a concussion. He has shown considerable improvement and his treatment is being carefully monitored by his family physician. However, at this point, access to visitors is restricted primarily to family members.

Mr. Kolb says, “A prognosis of Chief Catney’s return to active duty is unknown at this time, but we are hopeful his recovery will be speedy. We send our best wishes to his family.”

Mr. Kolb says pending Chief Catney’s return to active duty, Deputy Chief Michael Metcalf has been appointed by the Board to the position of Acting Chief.
