Chair Emil Kolb Awarded Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal

On February 24, 2003, Mr. Emil Kolb, Chair of the Regional Municipality of Police Services Board, was awarded the prestigious Commemorative Golden Jubilee Medal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at a ceremony held at St. Anne’s School in the City of Brampton.

The Golden Jubilee Medal of Queen Elizabeth II was struck to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty's reign as Queen of Canada. It is being awarded to citizens who, over the past 50 years, have helped create the Canada of today, or those younger Canadians who are actively contributing to our country's future. Potential candidates were nominated by the federal government, based on advice from community organizations, among others.

Mr. Kolb is a well deserving recipient of the Golden Jubilee Medal. Elected Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Peel Regional Council on December 12, 1991, he was elected to serve for a fourth term in December 2000. As Regional Chair, he is the Head of Regional Council, and an ex-officio member of all committees of Council.
