Brampton Mayor Joins Police Board
(BRAMPTON)– Mayor Susan Fennell of the City of Brampton is the latest member of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board, having been appointed effective July 1, 2005, by the Regional Council of Peel, says Mr. E. Kolb, Chair, Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board. Mayor Fennell replaces Councillor Gael Miles, who has been the Brampton representative from Council for the past six years.
“It is a pleasure having Mayor Fennell join the Board,” says Mr. Kolb. “She has been a strong advocate and supporter of the work of the police service since being a member of Brampton Council.”
Mayor Fennell says, “It has been a long time desire of mine to work with Chief Noel Catney and the entire police membership to further our common goal of maintaining and enhancing the safety and security of our entire Region. I very much look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Mr. Kolb also used the occasion to acknowledge the contribution made by Councillor Gael Miles.
“In welcoming Mayor Fennell, I believe it is also appropriate to thank Councillor Gael Miles for her contribution over the past six years,” says Mr. Kolb. “She has been a hard working, dedicated member whose passion for public safety is well recognized. I know she will continue to work on public safety issues in other ways and in other forums.”
