Peel Police Services Board Welcomes New Citizen Appointment

BRAMPTON – Ms. Louise Mitchell is the newest member of the Peel Police Services Board. A long-time Mississauga resident, Ms. Mitchell was appointed by the provincial government effective April 12, 2017, for a two-year term.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Louise to the Board," says Board Chair Amrik Singh Ahluwalia. "Louise brings extensive experience in the community and the private sector to her new role as a Police Services Board member. I am confident that Ms. Mitchell will be an effective and valuable Board member."

Louise Mitchell is a seasoned financial services executive who has managed significant national businesses within banking and insurance. A strategic leader with proven ability to practically execute, build high performing teams and deliver strong business results. Louise also has a lifetime history of giving back to the community. She is Chair of the Women’s Leadership Council for the United Way of Peel, past Chair of Junior Achievement of Canada, past Board Member of the Mississauga Board of Trade and recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. In 2014 Louise was recognized as a Transformational Change Leader as one of 50 Women of Influence in Canada’s Life Insurance Industry.  

“Over the years, I have had the privilege of living, working and raising a family in this wonderful community. I am honoured to have this opportunity to give back and serve the people of Peel”, says Louise Mitchell. “I am looking forward to working with the Board and the Chief.”  

Peel Regional Police (PRP) is the third largest municipal police service in Canada with 2,015 uniform and 845 civilian members with a policing population of over 1.4 million.
