Long Time Mississauga Resident Joins Police Services Board
(BRAMPTON) – John Rogers, a well known businessman and resident of Mississauga has been appointed to the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board, says Mr. Emil Kolb, Chair of the Board. Mr. Kolb says the appointment was made by the provincial government effective August 29, 2012 for a two-year term, and became official when Mr. Rogers was sworn in on September 13, 2012.
"It's a pleasure to welcome John to the Board," says Mr. Kolb. "Not only will his professional background be of considerable benefit given our current challenging fiscal environment, but he epitomizes the word 'volunteer'. John has very deep roots in our community and this will serve the Board and the police service well."
Mr. Rogers is an urban planner and has been involved in numerous development projects in the Region of Peel, the Greater Toronto area and the United Arab Emirates. He has an extensive history of volunteer work with charities, sport organizations and non-profit agencies. This has led to him receiving numerous awards including the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation, Mississauga's Citizen of the Year (1998) and most recently, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
"It's an honour to join the Peel Police Services Board," says Mr. Rogers. "I know it's a very exciting and challenging time to come onboard, and I very much look forward to contributing to the Board's deliberations."
